Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Mary Ann McLaughlin. By booking an appointment or receiving a service, the client agrees to the following:
1. Eligibility & Legal Requirements
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old to receive a tattoo. A valid government-issued photo ID must be presented at the appointment. No exceptions.
- Health Disclosure: By booking, you confirm that you are in good health and do not have any conditions (e.g., blood-borne diseases, skin infections, allergies, pregnancy) that may interfere with the tattooing or healing process. Please disclose any relevant medical conditions before your session.
2. Consultation, Design & Spelling
- Custom Designs: All tattoo designs are custom-made and will not be released digitally or physically before the appointment. Minor changes can be made on the day of the session. Major changes may require rescheduling and may incur additional fees.
- Spelling & Dates: The Artist assumes no responsibility for the correctness of spelling, grammar, or dates—regardless of language. Clients are solely responsible for verifying that all text, names, and numbers are accurate before the tattoo is applied.
3. Appointments, Deposits & Cancellations
- Booking & Deposits: A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. This will be credited toward the final cost of your tattoo.
- Cancellations: If you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment or fail to show up, your deposit will be forfeited.
- Rescheduling: You may reschedule your appointment once with at least 24 hours' notice. Additional reschedules may require a new deposit.
4. Pricing
- Pricing is based on the size, complexity, and placement of the tattoo.
- All quotes are estimates and may be adjusted based on time, detail, and the number of sessions required.
5. Cover-Up Tattoos
If the tattoo is a cover-up, please note:
- No guarantee can be made for complete coverage of the existing tattoo.
- There may be unpredictable aesthetic outcomes or skin reactions, including scarring, due to interactions between old and new pigments.
- The Artist accepts no liability for these interactions or results.
- The number of sessions required to complete the cover-up cannot be determined in advance.
6. Touch-Ups & Aftercare
- Touch-Ups: One free touch-up is available within 3 months of the original session, only if proper aftercare was followed. Additional touch-ups due to negligence, sun exposure, or improper care will be charged.
- Aftercare: The Artist will provide detailed aftercare instructions. Clients are fully responsible for following them. Failure to do so may impact healing and results.
7. Right to Refuse Service
The Artist reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time, for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Intoxication
- Abusive or inappropriate behavior
- Failure to comply with these Terms
8. Liability
The Artist is not liable for:
- Allergic reactions
- Infections
- Complications resulting from the tattooing process or aftercare negligence
Tattoos are permanent. Laser removal is a separate, costly procedure that may not guarantee complete removal.
9. Photography & Portfolio
The Artist reserves the right to photograph completed tattoos for portfolio and promotional use (online and offline).
If you do not consent to photography, please notify the Artist before your session.
